Step 1 - Download app
Download the Alaska Airlines app and log in or add your booking reference.
Step 2 - Adjust settings
Navigate to "More" in the lower right corner and scroll all the way down to "Settings". Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
Step 3 - Enable EBTs
Go to "Electronic bag tag" and enable the use of electronic bag tags. By enabling EBTs, you'll be able to check in your baggage through the Alaska app if your flight is eligible.

Step 4 - Check in
With Alaska Airlines, you can check in up to 24 hours before your flight*. For a seamless experience, use their app to check in yourself once check-in is available. If your flight supports BagID, the app will guide you through the necessary steps.
To transfer the bag tag, make sure to activate Bluetooth on your BagID by pressing the left button once. A blue, blinking light in the upper right corner indicates that your BagID is ready to connect.
Step 5 - Electronic bag tag
Your bag tag should be transferred and display flight and passenger information in black text on a white background. If your tag doesn't look right, please update the tag.
The BagID can only communicate with the Alaska app within the check-in window.
*Some flights or destinations may not support the use of EBTs. The app will instantly let you know if your BagID can be used on your travel route.
**Information may change. Please check with your airline for the latest updates.
